Operating Principles

Witney Price Group is a privately owned holding group focused on long‑term stewardship of established enterprises. We operate with a disciplined but practical approach to ownership, particularly in situations involving transition, complexity, or change—where continuity, discretion, and clear accountability matter.

Permanent Stewardship

We prioritise the long‑term health and operational continuity of portfolio businesses over short‑term financial optimisation.

Institutional Governance

We operate with clear decision rights and practical oversight, applied proportionately to risk and circumstance.

Long-term Alignment

Ownership is structured for durability, supporting continuity for management, staff, customers, and stakeholders.

Direct Accountability

As a privately owned group, we operate with direct responsibility for decisions and outcomes, exercised with judgement and care.

Operational Integrity

We value discretion, professional conduct, and clear communication—especially in sensitive or transitional situations.

Structural Stability

We seek structures that support stability through market cycles and change, without unnecessary complexity.

Origins of the name

The Witney Price Group name reflects the chosen name of the founder’s family. “Witney” is often described as meaning “gift from God” in Old English, and “Price” forms the second element of the family name, chosen by his partner, under which the Group operates today.

Ownership & Responsibility

Witney Price Group is privately owned and operated. The Group’s approach to ownership and stewardship reflects direct accountability, long‑term alignment, and principled decision‑making.

Responsibility for strategy, capital allocation, and governance sits at Group level and is exercised with discretion, proportional oversight, and a clear focus on continuity and stability over time.
